Terms of Service
Last updated: May 3, 2026 · Effective date: At App Store launch
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the PawPal mobile application and related services ("PawPal", the "Service"), provided by Nlongvity, a sole proprietorship registered in Norway ("we", "us", "our").
By creating a PawPal account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
To use PawPal, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under Norwegian law
- Not be barred from using the Service under any applicable law
If you are using PawPal on behalf of a household or other persons, you confirm you have authority to record their pets' information in your account, and "you" refers to the account holder.
2. Your account
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities under your account
- The accuracy of pet profile data and health logs you create
- Notifying us immediately at hello@nlongvity.com of any unauthorized access
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, applicable law, or platform policies (Apple, Google).
3. Pet wellness disclaimer (important)
PawPal is a record-keeping, reminder, and memory-keeping tool for pet owners.
PawPal is not a veterinary service. PawPal does not provide veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.
Information surfaced in the app — including breed guidance, weight ranges, milestone celebrations, AI-generated pet bios, and reminder schedules — is general information based on widely available references and is not tailored medical advice for your specific pet.
If your pet shows signs of illness, injury, or distress, contact a licensed veterinarian. Do not delay veterinary care because of anything you read in PawPal.
You are solely responsible for your pet's health, safety, and care. Nlongvity is not liable for outcomes related to veterinary decisions, missed appointments, missed medications, or any pet health event.
4. AI-generated content
PawPal uses third-party AI services (Anthropic Claude) to generate pet bios from your pet's profile data. By using the Service:
- You acknowledge that AI may produce errors, inaccuracies, or content that does not match your pet's real personality
- You can regenerate bios at any time
- You are solely responsible for any content you choose to share publicly (e.g. via the pet passport share feature)
- We make no warranty of accuracy, originality, fitness for purpose, or non-infringement of generated content
Content ownership: You retain ownership of pet data, photos, and notes you create. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process, store, and display this content within the Service for the sole purpose of operating the Service. This license terminates when you delete the content or your account, except for backups (deleted within 90 days) and anonymized analytics.
We do not use your content, photos, or feedback to train our AI models or any third-party AI models.
5. Subscription, trial, and payments
PawPal offers a free tier and a premium subscription.
Free tier: Includes 1 pet, core health log, reminders, and standard timeline access.
Premium subscription: Unlocks multiple pets, full timeline, year-in-review, breed-specific guidance, vet PDF export, and other features marked Premium in-app.
Pricing: Subscription pricing is displayed in the app at the time of purchase and may be updated; existing subscribers receive 30 days' notice before any price increase takes effect.
Billing: Subscriptions are billed through:
- Apple App Store for iOS users
- Google Play Store for Android users
Billing terms, refund policies, and renewal mechanics are governed by the platform you subscribe through.
Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Cancel via Apple ID Subscriptions or Google Play Subscriptions — whichever you used to subscribe.
Right of withdrawal (angrerett): Norwegian and EU consumer law generally provides a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts (Norwegian Consumer Contracts Act / angrerettloven). Because PawPal is a digital service that begins delivery immediately upon subscription activation, by starting your subscription you expressly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that the right of withdrawal is therefore lost once delivery has begun.
Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google per their respective policies. We do not issue direct refunds for platform-billed subscriptions.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use PawPal to:
- Violate any law of Norway, the EU, or any jurisdiction
- Upload content that infringes intellectual property rights (photos, illustrations, third-party copyrighted material)
- Upload content depicting harm, abuse, or neglect of animals or humans
- Impersonate real people, businesses, or organizations
- Misrepresent veterinary credentials or provide veterinary advice to others through any sharing feature
- Spam or abuse the share feature for commercial mass solicitation in violation of Norwegian Marketing Control Act §15
- Violate Apple's App Store Review Guidelines or Google Play Developer Program Policies
You may not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code of the Service
- Use the Service to build a competing product
- Scrape, abuse, or attempt to circumvent rate limits on the Service or its third-party APIs
- Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to manipulate the Service beyond what the Service itself enables
- Resell access to the Service without our written agreement
Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.
7. Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice (typically 30 days for material changes), or immediately if required by law or security concerns.
We rely on third-party services (Apple, Google, Anthropic, Supabase) whose availability we do not control. If a third-party service is discontinued or changes its terms, we will adapt the Service accordingly and notify you of material impacts.
8. Third-party services
PawPal integrates with the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Anthropic, Supabase, RevenueCat, and others listed in the Privacy Policy. Their respective terms apply when using those features.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Norwegian law:
- The Service is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, except where mandatory consumer protection law (forbrukerkjøpsloven, angrerettloven) provides otherwise
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages
- We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or business interruption
- We are not liable for any harm to a pet's health, including missed reminders, late notifications, or reliance on app content in lieu of veterinary care
- We are not liable for damages caused by third-party services (Apple, Google, Anthropic, etc.)
- Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid for PawPal in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or NOK 500, whichever is greater
These limitations do not exclude liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, personal injury, death, or any liability that cannot be limited under mandatory Norwegian consumer law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify Nlongvity against claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms
- Content you upload or share through the Service
- Your violation of third-party rights, including intellectual property, privacy, or platform policies
- Your violation of any applicable law
This indemnification does not apply to claims caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
11. Termination
By you: You may terminate your account anytime via Settings → Delete account, or by emailing privacy@nlongvity.com. See /pawpal/delete-account for details.
By us: We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without prior notice, if:
- You materially breach these Terms
- We are required to do so by law or court order
- Continuing the Service to you would expose us to legal risk
- Your subscription is unpaid for more than 30 days
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Personal data is deleted per our Privacy Policy.
Sections that by their nature survive termination (limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, content licenses for already-shared content) survive.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email and via in-app banner at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
If you do not agree with material changes, your remedy is to terminate your account before the effective date.
13. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by Norwegian law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Disputes shall first be attempted resolved amicably by contacting hello@nlongvity.com.
If amicable resolution fails:
- For consumers: disputes may be brought in the consumer's home jurisdiction within the EEA, or in Norway. Norwegian consumers retain mandatory rights under Norwegian consumer protection law that cannot be waived. Consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr
- For business users: disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Norwegian courts, with Bergen tingrett as the agreed venue of first instance
Nothing in these Terms prevents a consumer from invoking mandatory consumer protections in their country of residence.
14. Norwegian Consumer Authority
Information about Norwegian consumer rights is available from:
Forbrukertilsynet (Norwegian Consumer Authority)
www.forbrukertilsynet.no
15. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms, along with the Privacy Policy and any in-app notices, constitute the entire agreement between you and Nlongvity regarding the Service.
